Arts Award Centre
Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
For the past 3 years we have been a registered Arts Award centre and currently offer the Bronze and Silver awards.

The Arts Awards are run through Trinity College and are recognised by OFQUAL. Bronze is equivalent to a 3 in GCSE’s and Silver is equivalent to a grade 9.

Here is a rough outline of how it works:
Bronze - suitable for 11-25 year olds
Duration - 5 monthly lessons - on top of regular art or DT lessons

Silver - Suitable for 14-25 year olds
Duration - 10 monthly lessons - on top of regular art or DT lessons

The monthly lessons, for both awards, focus on how to complete the qualification. Each session is roughly an hour long. We cover what needs to be completed for the month, the children have a chance to ask questions and show me their project work so far to make sure they are on target for what is required.

At the end of the monthly sessions students can continue to work on their coursework until they are happy they have completed everything. This time varies from one student to the next, some hand it in straight away and others typically take up to a year.

Additionally to these sessions a regular art class needs to be attended - these can be online or in person .
We offer Design Technology courses that can be attended to work towards part of the Bronze or Silver qualification. Alternatively a different art can be studied elsewhere.
